can this happen to a 20year old i dont no if im ok i was told this happens to older people?

It started six months ago. and at first I thought it was a bee sting or some kind of spider bite. So I did not think anything of it. So after few weeks the big bump I thought went away. But when I tuched the area it would come back not really as a bump but a red like rash. Now this located in the middle of my back. Now pain is numb but at the same time a nerve sing n feeln, Up an down my back! I wish I new now I did see a doctor about two weeks ago. I no I wated to long but any how he told me that I had shingls but its been three o weeks and that cream he gave me. Now do u think its shingls I'm 20 years old it don't make since and I'm nervice! Thanks for ur time god bless! ( could it be something elce that I should be looking for? This is putting a lot of stress on me. The pain is always in my back. And does it get bader befor it gets better?

not uncommon for younger people to get it....its usually in older people, but that doesnt mean its ONLY for elder people...... my friend just had shingles a few weeks ago and she is only 24.....her's has cleared up by now, but she had it for a month or 2...... shingles is an adult version of chicken pox...you can get shingles if you havent had chicken pox.

If it's shingles that can be pretty painful and can last quite awhile. I'm so sorry you're going through this. If you feel the cream isn't working ask your doctor if there's something else he can prescribe but I really think you just have to ride this out. It's not pleasant, I know!
It can strike at any age. If you've had the chicken pox then you can get shingles. I hope you turn that corner soon and start feeling better here pretty quick! God bless!
