Hello, I was diagnosed with Hypothryoidism when I was 20 when I had just had my first child. I had lost all my baby weight in 1 month, and gained it all back over the next 3. My doctor (military) said that it was probably postpartum related and never tested again. He transfered and I never knew enough to ask about it once my prescription was empty.
Two years and many military doctors later, after my second child was born, I found out that I still had hypothyroidism permanantly. Over the previous 3 years (including the first pregnancy) and next 6 years, I also randomly fought with hives. Sometimes there weren't any and other times they were so bad my ears would triple in size, my eyes were swollen shut, and my lips were so big that they touched my nose. There were times prednizone didnt help and I was a mess. I did allergy testing with no findings and journaled and there was no consistancy. Finally about 4 years ago(after a divorce) , a civilian doctor tested me for Hashimotos and it came back positive. My doctor put me on Allegra TWICE a day and it was working so well I was able to go down to once a day about 6 months ago. A few weeks ago I began having hives from head to toe again, and went back to twice a day with no results. I look horrible although they have stayed away from my face and kept to my body and limbs only. Heat definitely makes them worse, but they are already present anyway. I also found out 4 years ago that I have a goiter and have had ultrasounds yearly to check for cancer. It has not ever gotten larger than the first ultrasound but there is much scarring due to constant shrinkage and enlargements. I am making an appointment this week to see the doctor. Does anyone have any ideas to help with the hives, that their doctor has tried....I am pretty sure mine is out of ideas.
Thanks,
Kat
