Can't even begin to decide where my 16 yr old daughter. She has had a multitude of tests and procedures frequent headaches, muscle aches, severe morning lethargy, mood swings abdominal cramps, neck pain, right side flank pain, facial pain over right cheek, forehead and right ear. Each item has been gaining in disruption of her life. Sick a lot as a child, digestive and urinary issues along with skin, hair and scalp. I kept going toward food allergies, but doctors state that it was not her problem. Weight fluxes high and then comes down; Looks more like fluid weight, sometimes, and considering the diet it is hard to explain why weight does not come off. Vegetarian.
Cyst (2.1 x 1.6cm) over right side scalp at 14 with loss of all hair on the cyst. Thinning of hair with a straw like texture. Went to the best hospital in N.E. and they felt it was better just to leave alone. Had CT and MRI to see if it was pituitary related. Unusual to loose hair around the cyst, but not concerned. Left alone and went away after 8 - 10 months (still tender in the area). Hair came back in full force after a year (extremely thick red hair).
Chronic sinusitis to cause facial swelling multiple times on right side. Multiple rounds of antibiotics. Allergy tests, sinus surgery (polyp and work on right side only), and currently doing allergy shots.
Went to urologist for right side flank pain. Did testing of CT and renal scan and several ultrasounds. Right kidney slightly larger than left, possible slight nephrosis. Deemed not the cause of pain or she was choosing to hold back on urinating. Sent to gastrologist for possible GERD and constipation told to take miralax on a regular basis, otherwise by blood work she is perfectly healthy. Endoscope did not show celiac, but lactose intolerant. Severe acne that cleared up after going milk free. Gastrologist believed problems are muscular skeletal.
Severe monthly cycle pain, started taking low-ogesterol to help with pain. That seems to be helping.
One year after sinus surgery, continued to have all same symptoms and sent to a neurologist for possible neuralgia. Given a series of steroids (minimal/no improvement) and migraine medication. MRI showed no m.s. or brain abnormalities.
Abdominal CT showed all organs to look normal, except for cyst on spleen, but because it is on the left and not where her pain is it is deemed incidental due to viewing the test.
Going to physical therapy for muscles and has an appointment for chiropractor. I still keep going back to her lab work and think something is explained here. Most are within normal limits, but is there ever a normal is not normal? She is vit d deficient and takes supplements. Although when I give her vit d w/calcium she has more bone pain. So I do sometimes give her just the D without the calcium. Does any of this ring bells? Is there something else here that would explain her symptoms or maybe another explanation for distress?

(All items tested at O probability, skin test shows mild reaction to indoor/outdoor items. One year after surgery symptoms did not improve so allergist offered to give shots to see if she will improve. Too early to tell yet. )
If something comes to mind… help is appreciated.
