Euthyroid is treatment warranted?

Doc,
I have been diagnosed with Hashimoto's based on a biopsy and blood work.  I have been slightly tired, sluggish, sensitive to cold and experience low level depression.  My lab results are below.

Free T4              1.2             Lab Range    (0.6-1.6)
TSH                   3.62                               (.34-5.6)
Antithyroglobulin  29                                 (<40)
TPO                    2020                             (,35)
LDL                     106                               (<100)  *currently taking lipitor 10mg 1x per day
Chol/HDL ratio       3.9                              (<3.5)

Based on my limited symptoms would you recommend a trial course of thyroid replacement?  Would this help prevent progression to overt Hypothyroid?  My endo has recommended waiting and stated that prophylactic treatment is unsubstantiated by current literature.  Might I benefit from getting the TSH below three, as suggested by AACE?

Thanks so much for your response!
