HOW MENY DAYS LIVE ALONE FOR RAI

I JUST ADMIT IN HOSPITAL FOR RAI.AND IN THE EVENINIG OF 20AUGUST GIVE RAI 100MCI CAPSULE. BUT DOCTOR SAID I HAVE TO LIVE ALONE FOR SEVEN DAYS . BECAUSE RAY COMING FROM MY BODY, IT IS HARMFUL FOR OTHERS. BUT SOME WHERE I SAW , IT NEEDS ONLE THREE DAYS AND WANT TO TAKE HUGE WATER. BUT WHY THEY SAID LIKE THAT. SEVEN DAYS IS BIG TIME. THEY TAKE 7 DAYS HOSPITAL CHARGE FROM ME. ANY BODY THERE EXPERIENCE LIKE ME?

i had a little tumor on my right lobe of the neck and it got papillary carcinoma. but no matastesis and just in the tumor. after surgery give me the RAI.

I just had RAI.  I don't know what my dosage was, but I must be isolated for three days from my family, and then 6' away from my other family members and and across the table from my husband.  I must also sleep alone for two weeks, and away from pregnant women and small children for two weeks.  I am on the computer, telephone and watching TV and reading.  Good luck and feel better.

I had 75  millicuries that is what mci standsfor so you got a little more.
this was my second RAI for cancer suppression. I cant remember what my first one was but it was back in Feb 2007.
Next month is my 2 year anniversary of the surgery and cancer discovery.

Why are you having the RAI done if you dont mind me asking?

I stayed in iso for 5 days .I slept in the guest room with plastic on the mattress and  old sheets that I could throw away Drink as much water as you can stand and then drink some more so it can fluxh the radiation out of your body.
the main thing is stay away from children and pregnant women. I also  stayed away from my pets as well.
Depending on your dose  and you may have been on a pretty high one is why your doctor is telling you 7 days.
Just relax and enjoy the time to yourself I watched movies and read alot with rubber gloves on to keep the radiation from spreading as muc as possible.
