Hashimoto's Dx with norml TSH

Hello, I am 33 yo and was just diagnosed with Hashimotos due to mildly heretogeneous goiter and TPO-Ab at 45 IU/mL (<35 IU/mL).  The only symptoms that may be atributed are dry skin, thin hair, alopecia, and brittle nails, though I was also diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 23.  My previous TSH levels done every couple of years until last July have been in the range of 1.50 to 2.0 (never had an abnormal TSH or T-4).  My endo prescribed Synthroid 75 mcg.
Question: If I do not appear to have subclinical hypothyroidism due to normal TSH, do I have any benefits in taking the Synthroid now or may I delay it?

What is your current TSH?  The one in July looked perfect. He might be putting you on the synthroid to see if it will decrease the goiter, but I would be very cautious not to go hyper on the 75mcgs.  I would suggest a lower dose like 25mcgs to begin with and frequent blood tests.  Just my thoughts.
