hyperparathyroidism

in 2009 i seen my gastro doctor and he seen where i had a high calcium level and told me this could be serious,,so at that time i had no insurnance,,so i went to apply for a medical card threw my state,,in the mean time while waiting for approval to get medical card,,i did researching on the internet about hyperparathyoidism and this took me to he site of www.parathyroid.com this site answer alot of questions i had and also answer alot of systoms that i have been having,,i have been having kidney stones attacts since 2004,,at least 3 to 4 times a year in the emergency rooms for kidney stones,so when i recieved my medical card i went to a endrocrinolist he wanted blood and urine test done,,and it came to where i had hyperparathyroidism,,,,so he sent me to a otorhinolaryngology/ head and neck surgery/thyroid as it says on his business card,,so i thought ok this is the doctor that is going to make me better,,so he wanted scans done of the neck,then i went back after the scans and he told me i had a tumor on my lower right pole of my parathyroid gland and it had to be removed,,during this period of finding what was wrong with me i gained over 30 pounds,,i lost all concentration,confusion set in,,,depression,and nunerous other things,,so the doctor wanted to remove the tumor and promised he was going to add 10 yrs on my life and all these things i was experminating was going to go away,,hedid the surgery in sept of2009 and in dec2009 i was back in hospital with kidney stones again and high calcium level,,i have developed hyperparathyroidism over again,,,please help,doctor does not want to help me this time,please help

It could be that more than just one parathyroid is damaged for some reason. You may need some more or all removed.

Why is the doctor refusing to help you?

You always have the option to get a 2nd opinion.  Please do this so you know for sure you're being treated correctly.  I've learned so much about advocating for my own health - you need to have trust in doctors but don't go blindly......   Good Luck!!
