Hot Flashes

I had my thyroid removed 2 yrs ago and am taking 137 mcg Synthroid Mon-Thur and half dose Fri-Sun.  In the last month I have been dealing with almost constant hot flashes.  Could there be a connection to the non thyroid condition or might something else be happening?  I am 68 and way past the hot flash stage.

Did the prenatal vitamin help with the hair loss? I'm starting to get worried about it. I've had periods of hair loss before that lasted several months but then it stopped. This time I'm losing TONS of hair everyday. I am very fortunate to have a head full of thick hair but it's gotten so thin that I"m starting to panic.
On the constipation thing, I've tried taking magnesium citrate and it doesn't really help me much with that. I also take calcium citrate.  I'm a mess right now. I feel hypo somedays, hyper on others, and then fine on others. I just want my hair.

My endo doc has me taking 1200 of manesium mine is 1.5 and my NP says the cardiologist like it at 2-2.5. In taking this I am no longer constipated, You will run to the bathroom. Because I am on high doses of calcium 3000-6000 mg which causes my stomach to be bloated and hard. She also gave me prenatal vitamin for the hair loss.
I am 50 yrs and now have no thyroid on 137 mc synthroid and am wired and tired.

I think it has something to do with the thyroid thing. I was experiencing the same thing. I had a TT 3 years ago and started having hot flashes off and on.  Yes, I'm 43 so you'd think it could be menopause but I went to my gyno and had tests and it's not.  They come and go with me. I'll have them all day long for 2 weeks straight and then not all for months.  I'm on 125 mcg of synthroid 3 days a week and 137 for 4.  I also take 5 mcg of Cytomel everyday.  My meds have not stayed consistent for more than 3 months since I had my TT. I'm still trying to find that perfect dose that keeps me feeling well with the tsh under 1.0.  So, I think my body is just always in crisis. My hair is falling out by the handfuls again, I'm constipated but the hot flashes have stopped. I don't know which is worse!  But, I'm leaning towards keeping my hair!
