I know it can be frustrating but I wouldn't do anything outside the care of a qualified dr. There are two side to this stuff too. My blood work was fine but u/s showed quite another story. I'm big on self-everything so if I'd gone with a home test, self diagnosed as okay and moved on a lot would have been overlooked. Remember, there is no home test for u/s, mri, etc. A dr might be stalling now but ultimately is the qualified one with the license to order further testing.
Hi, I don't know if they deliver to the USA, but here in the UK there is an online lab test to measure TSH. There is a Silver test which they send you and you do at home with a spot of blood from a skin *****, but it only tells you if you have a high TSH in line with hypothyroidism. There is also a Gold test which you send back to them for analysis, and this one can tell if you have a high or low TSH, that is hypo or hyperthyroidism. However, the TSH is only one of the blood tests they measure for thyroid function, so as MKlacza says, it might be better to go to your doctor. The above test is handy, and easy to do, I have used it myself, but it is only as a starter point. I have done it myself, but only as proof to take to show my doctor that I did have a problem. The website where you can order this product is: www.oxfordscreening.co.uk/NewsOS/TSHtest.html
Hey there... why are you wanting to do this? Is your Dr not ordering the right tests?
