Low TSH no symptoms

My TSH came up 0.05 on a routine blood test. I have absolutely no symptoms of hyperthyroidism - in fact, I've gained about 10 lbs and can't seem to lose it (BMI is still in normal range). I'm a 50 yr female (which is what I attribute the weight gain to!). I have been slender all my life and would really notice weight loss. I feel great, no loss of hair, no tremors, no abnormal menstrual cycles, no quickening heartrate (another thing I would notice since I work out every day). Can something else be causing this low TSH? Thanks! Sukey

Thanks for your comment Peggy  - I'm thinking the same thing. I think my TSH was low about 10 years ago - I don't get blood tests very often. My primary care doctor just referred me to an endocrinologist - no mention of repeat tests or a thyroid panel (I didn't have T3 or 4 done - just TSH). It will take 4 months to get an appt with the endocrinologist - geez! You would think I'd have some symptoms if something was really off hormonally.

This could just be "normal" for you. Especially since you are asymptomatic.

Do you have any of your previous readings, and do you know your Free T3 and 4?
