Well, I thought my period was slowing down today because I went from 1pm- till around 6pm using only 1 tampon and pad. After I got to work tonight around 10pm it started getting insanely heavy!! I went through 10 super plus tampons and 2 pads in 2 hours!! I had 4 clots that came out the size of a baseball almost! Not to mention a toilet full of blood. What is really sick too.. I dont even have to pull the tampons out the just shoot out with force because the clots force it out once I sit down I guess..
God I hate this SO much........ I dont think I have ever been this miserable in my whole life. :(
I had a test a year or 2 ago a pelvic sonogram where they went inside and checked for those things and found none.
Very interesting.. thanks for posting! From what you wrote I do feel the very same things..
"swing from hyper (rapid heart rate, diarrhea, anxiety, shaky, sleeplessness) to hypo (tired, constipated, sleep all the time, moody, heavy periods)."
I have made a appointment to see a new Gynecologist yesterday but the earliest I can get in is Feb. 2nd. :( So, I guess I need to go back in to the other doctor and have them test for the Hashimoto also.
I hope I someone can help me fix my problems.. because I am getting to the point where I feel like I'm about to go insane! :( 12 years is a long time to have this problem.. but the last 3 or 4 have been gradualy getting worse..
Your problems seem much more severe than a thyroid issue alone. You may have large fibroid tumors of the uterus. I have two fairly small fibroids that cause very heavy bleeding and they need to be removed. My symptoms are nothing compared to yours. If you have a gyno problem and thyroid problem, you really need a full checkup.
Sounds like you need many bumps in your medication and a good doctor. Even though you don't have good insurance, you need to try to find a doctor who can treat you. 50 mcg of thyroid meds is not enough. I am on 125 Synthroid plus 5 Cytomel and feel great. My periods are normal. I have stopped gaining weight. Pain in legs and feet is minimal.
I wonder if you have been tested for Hashimoto's, the most common cause of hypothyroidism in the US. TGab and TPOab blood tests are needed for Hashi. Also, a thyroid ultrasound. Women with Hashi, who are treated with adequate amounts of thyroid medicine have the potential to live healthy, happy lives, and deliver healthy children.
The only thing stopping you from losing the weight and feeling better (bleeding included) is a good doctor who knows how to treat your levels.
I would not be surprised if you have Hashi with the heart fluttering and low vitamins. Get your B12 and D vitamins. Hypo/Hashis tend to be low.
People with Hashimoto's can swing from hyper (rapid heart rate, diarrhea, anxiety, shaky, sleeplessness) to hypo (tired, constipated, sleep all the time, moody, heavy periods). Many of us also have auto-immune hives. I take a Zantac (beta blocker II) and a Zyrtec (beta blocker I) each day and no hives.
I also feel incredible and my periods are back to normal. I have Hashimoto's, but I have a doctor who treats me with a higher level of thyroid hormone, plus he added Cytomel (thyroid T3 drug) and I feel great. I also take a very low dose of birth control pills.
The below website lists recommended thyroid docs. I got mine on this list. I pay for him out of pocket, but it's worth it. Some docs will take payment plans.

Talk with your husband about this. Explain that you have the potential to get better, lose weight and deliver healthy babies if you both can pay for a good doc. How much is your life worth? Because right now, you aren't living at all.

Girl this sounds terrible, sounds like you should really get to a doctor today. Can you do that?
