Soy & thyroid

I have read in these forums that soy is not good for people that have thyroid issues.  My question is does that include ALL thyroid problems?  I had RAI a year ago & I am struggling to lose weight.  I wanted to check into medifast just to get a little bit of a jump start on my weight loss. My Dr. Said that I don't have any dietary restrictions but I have heard that soy can compound thyroid issues.  That is the last thing I would want to do. Does anyone have any information or experience with this?  I appreciate the help!

In women,  Soy also mimics estrogen. So if you indulge in a soy filled meal, and then dont for a few days, the body can see this as estrogen fluctuations. Being a guy, I have no experience with this but have read it quite a few times in different places.

One thing that is for sure: All hormones play tug of war with each other, so its best to keep them as balanced as possible.

I think the difference is between fermented soy and um-fermented soy. - something for you to goggle.
