Thanks. NOt going to do it again. I am not going to work next week at all. I decided I'm tired of being tough. I worked last week, no wonder I felt like garbage. I teach third grade and they don't know what's going on. I can't be all that I need to be for them. THanks for your encouragement.
That blows about the Thyrogen. BTW the company (Genzyme) that makes the drug has a number you can call to find out how to obtain it and tells your doctor how to bill it so it's covered. If you ever have to go through this again (and I pray you do NOT), I hope you will investigate this option. I can't even imagine what it feels like, I had one bad day and was calling my Endo "why do I feel like this!?" I couldn't handle it at all. You are a stronger woman than I :)
My insurance didn't cover thyrogen, so this is my second time going through hypohe##. It's not fun. My tsh was 47 a week ago and my endo said it could be in 80's by now. My muscles are cramping like crazy.
I think it's the best thing to do. With just the WBS I wonder if you even need to go off meds and do LID. I am so surprised they haven't come up with a better way by now. I mean they have Thyrogen, why isn't there something that can suck up the iodine in your body before you have your tracer or ablation dose? The whole thing is downright silly.

Starving in Salem :)
I know- I think the list of what you can have is shorter than what you can have. I am only doing this for a short time- 4 or 5 days.
I'm with your doctor...I'm not a huge supporter of LID either. Only 18 days until I can have cheese. Good Lord!
I wish you all the best on your scan!!!
LOL! I am going to do if just for a few days since my tsh is so high already. I guess something is better than not at all.
I wish my doctor hadn't been a supporter of the LID! I'll never look at unsalted almonds the same way again. The actual thought of them gives me heartburn!
THanks, I feel better now. I am going to do it for the next few days beofre I get the scan. I did it last June before my initial RAI.
I had to do the LID and hypohell for the original RAI treatment dose but didn't have to do anything but thyrogen shots for the followup WBS.
