How and when to de-contaminate after RAI

For those of you who had the RAI, how and when did you de-contaminate your isolation room?  I've read that this stuff is "water soluble."  Does that mean if I take a tub of Lysol wet wipes and wipe off every single thing I've touched in the room as well as scour the bathroom it should be okay?  And when should I do this? I'm worried about the telephone and computer most of all and want to make sure everything is "safe."  And while I'm at it....when the heck am I gonna feel better?  On day 4 now, 3 days back on meds and I'm still hurting all over, especially in the rib cage area.  The sore throat I had is gone, so that was nothing. But I ache all over. I"m assuming it's still because I'm massively hypo?

Hurting all over is from being VERY hypo and, I believe, from the RAI to some extent.

The radiation is excreted through bodily fluids - mostly urine but also saliva, sweat, etc.

I didn't worry too much about the phone (I used speaker phone) or computer (fingertips don't sweat that much).  I threw away my bedding and scrubbed the shower and toilet.  I washed my clothing (sweats mostly) three times before I dried them.  Threw away my toothbrush and plastic plate/utensils.

I was told it was like cleaning after someone has had a very contagious disease.  :-(

Hope your scan comes back good!

Well...................... I cleaned every chance I could. 5 days after ----I tore apart everything. I didn't use my computer and had one phone fork cup glass plate I used.

Feeling better...... well it took quite a while. I didn't have adequete care after so I went into hypo he// for a long time. I have heard though that about 4 weeks after,  you should feel OK. Stay on top of your tests and visits back to the doc.

Wishing you well
