Thyroid problem or Pheocromocytoma

I have had a fluctuating TSH for several months along with hair loss, diarrhea, insomnia, 9 lb wt loss in 5 weeks, tremor, vision changes, dry skin, palor, and anxiety.  I had a LAVH with left ovary removed and have not had any symptoms of early menopause.  I had lab done becausee I cannot beat the fatigue postop.  Otherwise normal recovery with no excessive bleeding or postop problems.  Very healthy preop.  In Feb. 09 TSH was 0.98, June it was 2.0, Aug. it was 0.32, and 3 days after the O.32 I went to the ED in SVT at 180.  My TSH then was 1.21. I converted on my own to a sinus tach but kept a rate above 100.  When my heart rate is in the uppoer 80s to low 100s it feels as if it is beating hard.  No health problems prior to LAVH.  I have been started on Toprol XL to control my tachycardia until they find out the underlying cause.  Echo nl, stress test abnormal, cardiac cath nl.  I am waiting on 24 hr urine results but here are the labs I have.  Thyroglob AB 37 ref <60 Iu/ml, Thyroid Perox 30 with same ref, Prolactin 6.7, Cortisol 12.9, T4 0.87, T3 uptake 0.34, ESR 7, CRP <25.0, also waiting on blood results for epinephrine, norepinephrine, dopamine, cate.  Does this appear to possibly be subclinical hyperthyroidism or possible Pheocromocytoma.  You may need the epi, norepi, and dopamine to answer completely.  I appreciate any information you can share with me.

Hypo/Hyper fluctuations sounds exactly what I may be doing.  I appreciate you taking the time to answer. When my TSH was fluctuating so much I asked for a Endo consult and my Gyn did send over a consult request but I can't get in until the end of October.

I don't know if it depends on the lab, but my endo's lab uses Thyroid Perox values of <35 and TGab of <20 for the Hashimoto's hypothyroid test.

If you used my lab, this would put your perox in the upper side of normal and your TGab of a 37 in the high range, suggesting Hashimoto's Thyroiditis.

Why would you think you're hyper? Because of the diarrhea and heart rate? Hashi people tend to fluctuate between hypo and hyper symptoms.

Your FT4 and FT3 are low, indicating hypo.

I have Hashi's and loads of feminine issues, including endometriosis two years ago. That's common with hypo/Hashi. I really don't understand your other labs, since I don't think they are thyroid labs.

You may request an endo based on your TGab score and also request a thyroid ultrasound.

Take care...
:) T.
