Will FT4 raise?

I was just diagnoised with Hashi this week. My FT4 was 0.83 and TSH was 4.86. I started Tirosint this week, will it correct both TSH and the FT4?

TSH is a pituitary hormone, that neither causes, nor alleviates symptoms.  When circulating levels of FT3 and FT4 become too low, the pituitary produces TSH to stimulate the thyroid to produce more hormones.  Ideally, when more hormones are produced, TSH levels would drop, so theoretically, the same should happen when one starts on thyroid replacement medication.

Your main focus should be on FT3, not FT4 and TSH.

FT3 (Free T3) and FT4 (Free T4) are the actual thyroid hormones.

There are numerous tests that  need to be done to test pituitary or hypothalamus insufficiency.

Many adrenal issues are determined by testing cortisol levels, but those tests have to be one over 24 hr periods.

What specific condition do you think you have?

It might be best if you start your own thread listing symptoms, tests run, results with reference ranges, etc, so we can best address your own issues.
