It is absolutely possible - in fact if your hormone levels have been a problem in the past, sometimes getting them corrected is the key.
My sister had her thyroid removed at age 24. She and her husband had been trying to have a baby since they got married three years earlier. Her thyroid was cancerous and had spread so she had to go through three RAI treatments. Six months after the last treatment she went off birth control to give her body time to adjust (all doctors told her it would take up to a year after going off the BC to get pregnant). Nice months later she had the most beautiful, intelligent baby girl! Today her daughter is a chatty, energetic, IPod-loving 2 year old.
Yes, it's possible.
