Hi there, I just wanted to tell you that back when I was 21yrs old i developed Graves and have also been dx. with hash. My left eye had terrible pressure behind it back when I was so hyper and was a little larger than my right eye. This may sound crazy but there were times when my eye would look more protruded and other days it didnt. Usually, my family could just look at me and tell when i was having a bad day and really feeling hyper. I am 48 now and had a TT in 2006 and am now hypo. My eye did go back down, but on occasions when my levels arent right it will look a little more larger than the right but not no where as bad as back when i was so hyper. Best of luck to you.

I have also been diagnosed with graves. I have yet to undergo RAI. Not sure if I want to or not. I still do not know if the docs have my diagnosis right. I am on the lowest amount of methamazole and am hypo. I went hyper for a period before the docters found a thyroid issue. Anyways to answer your question. I have not had any eye issues as of yet. From what I have read and studied though, even though you did the RAI it does not eliminate graves disease despite what some may say. Even if your thyroid was removed it could still effect your eyes. You need to see a eye doctor because there are things that can be done. I would also talk to your endo. The eye protrusion is caused from inflamation from behind the eyes causing them to protrude outward. I beleive there is some meds and I know there is also a surgery method for this. I am sorry for what you are going through, this disease is very difficult to deal with. I hope this helps.
