help make sense of levels

in the past i had hypo symptoms no diagnose. now i have been diagnosed with hyperthyroid. it flipped so quick. its got me confused how it can go from one end to a total different extreme. anyways here are my lab results...... tsh miu/1 expected would be 0.400-5.500 and mine are "out of range".... less than 0.010. and my t4 ng/d1 expected is 0.9-1.8 and mine is "in range".... 1.5. So, any input is helpful, i have no idea what to think or expect. i know i feel like crap and have lost at least twenty pounds while still eating regularly. i go to endocrinologyst may 2nd. but plz give me info, advice, something. thank u.

BTW ... you might have to google zopiclone, as they're sold by different names in different countries.. (Ambien?)

I was given zopiclone - mind you, I have known of a couple of people who have become addicted to these, and I was told to try some nights without them - which was usually the weekends;  I think they're muscle relaxants.  Taking a half or a whole did not make me sleep longer, and a third always got me relaxed enough to sleep.   I was prescribed them before I knew I was hyper, and in some ways, they 'hid' my hyper condition because, at least, I could sleep :-(...    Most of the time I only needed a third of a 7.5mg tablet (I got a pill cutter).

My chest wasn't hurting but my heart was racing so the betablockers helped me.  Be aware, though, that mine was because of a nodule producing too much hormone, so each case is different, but knowledge is certainly empowering, and I've learned a lot from here.

When I was hyper my doctor gave me a betablocker to slow down my heart and I also had low dose sleeping tablets - both really helped with the symptoms while my hyper state was being investigated.     I really remember having to eat so much but not putting on weight!!!    Then I was put on methimazole which brought my levels to normal within four weeks (it works quickly and is accumulative) until I had radioactive iodine for my 'toxic nodule'.

The lack of sleep seemed to affect me the most and made a difficult time even worse;  I don't think I could have got through without sleepaids, but only needed half a tablet.   Good luck - perhaps visit your PCP until the Eno appt - I know they were 'putting off medicating me' in case it reverted, but the betablocker and sleepaides really helped until the cause was established.

just got these labs, so my only diagnosis is hyperthyroid. he didnt test my t3 just free t4, and it was normal. tsh was way too low. i cant stand the heat or the cold, i get emotional easy, easily agitated to the point of wanting to become confrontational, extreme fatigue...but trouble sleeping, my left arm and leg hurt really bad...but it feels more like the bone not muscle...my heartrate sparatically goes up for no reason, my chest hurts, i have a terrible headache, i am physically hungry even shortly after eating. i dont know what all of this means. i dont get anymore work done until may 2nd. im scared of all the possible complications and bad outcomes. anymore advice or info would be appreciated.

Do you know if you have Hashimoto's thyroiditis?  Swings from hypo to hyper and back again, are common in the early stages of Hashi's.

You should also get tested for Free T3, which is the hormone that's actually used at the cellular level.

TSH is a pituitary hormone that is affected by many variables and can fluctuate wildly, even intraday.  The Free T3 and Free T4 are the important hormones.

What symptoms do you  have, other than the weight loss?
