Graves and Hoshi are autoimmune diseases.
Hyperthyroid (kind of rare) without Graves or hypothyroid without Hoshimoto can be temporary, not really a disease.
Hashi's is diagnosed by means of two thyroid antibody tests, TPOab and TGab. Elevated levels of either, supported by hypo labs and symptoms, indicates Hashi's.
Elevated TPOab can also occur with Grave's, but the definitive blood test for Grave's is TSI.
Of course, there are other tests that can be used to diagnose both of these, but these are the blood tests most often used.
Hi, Yes with Hashi it is a blood test to see if you have any Antibodies attacking the thyroid gland, some say the definitive test for Hasi is also a biopsy of the gland. My doctors just went by bloods and a scan to see how it was looking..With graves im not sure but someone on here will help you with that.Graves to my knowledge is an overactive gland?
