lightheadedness

I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism last February.  It all started out with being very light headed which lead me into panic attacks, and then into lack of emotions/disconnected from the world, because my doctor put me on celexa (to treat anxiety) before realizing it was my thyroid.  My lightheadedness went away for awhile, but it's come back the past few months, and is really frustrating me.  It's caused my panic attacks to come back, because I'm always so paranoid I'm going to pass out (although I never have).  I also feel like I have pressure in the front of my head, and sometimes the side.  I have gone to the dr. and spent way too much money just to find out that my thryoid is fine, and to stay on the medication I am on.  They tested me for Anemia and it came back negative.  Once I was there they said "Your blood pressure is pretty low, but you don't need to worry about it, because you're only 20 and that's normal."  They didn't do anything about it, so maybe that's the problem.  It's just scaring me, and I hope it's nothing too serious.

wow, I can't imagine dealing with that feeling for so long!  I'm so sorry you have gone through that.  I don't know the numbers, but I'm going to make sure I ask for them when I go my endocrinologist on Friday.  My doctor actually put me on the celexa three days before finding out it was my thyroid.  I was told to stay on the celexa for six months anyways along with my Levoxyl.  I also have a lingual thyroid which means it's located right underneath my chin.  Lingual thyroids are prone to failure, and I'm shocked I was never told this when I found out about it at four years old.  Once I came off of the Celexa I had awful withdrawal and had my symptoms all over again.  i was never told about the withdrawal until I found out for myself while it was happening.  It's just a crazy mess!  I have to say I am 10 times better than I was a year ago.  Hopefully I'll get all of this solved on Friday!  I hope everything finally gets back to "normal" for you now that they've discovered your hypothyroidism.  Thank you for your post, it's always nice to know you're not the only one!

I could have written your post about 10 years ago. I'm just now finding out I have thyroid issues. The celexa kinda helped me not care, but it was the anti anxiety medication that made me feel "normal" again. I really don't know if I had thyroid issues back then, but I'm starting to think that I did. I was always told the numbers where in the healthy range, but I just knew that something just wasn't right.
Did you get the numbers?? I never did, but wish I could have.

oh i also had low blood preasure. From what I've been reading, if I were you knowing what I know now. Go to a DO, or another alternative type doc, and fight for yourself.
