I could have written your post about 10 years ago. I'm just now finding out I have thyroid issues. The celexa kinda helped me not care, but it was the anti anxiety medication that made me feel "normal" again. I really don't know if I had thyroid issues back then, but I'm starting to think that I did. I was always told the numbers where in the healthy range, but I just knew that something just wasn't right.
Did you get the numbers?? I never did, but wish I could have.
oh i also had low blood preasure. From what I've been reading, if I were you knowing what I know now. Go to a DO, or another alternative type doc, and fight for yourself.
I just wanted to add, I was told I was fine and was never diagnosed with hypothyroid till last week. 11 years later...
wow, I can't imagine dealing with that feeling for so long! I'm so sorry you have gone through that. I don't know the numbers, but I'm going to make sure I ask for them when I go my endocrinologist on Friday. My doctor actually put me on the celexa three days before finding out it was my thyroid. I was told to stay on the celexa for six months anyways along with my Levoxyl. I also have a lingual thyroid which means it's located right underneath my chin. Lingual thyroids are prone to failure, and I'm shocked I was never told this when I found out about it at four years old. Once I came off of the Celexa I had awful withdrawal and had my symptoms all over again. i was never told about the withdrawal until I found out for myself while it was happening. It's just a crazy mess! I have to say I am 10 times better than I was a year ago. Hopefully I'll get all of this solved on Friday! I hope everything finally gets back to "normal" for you now that they've discovered your hypothyroidism. Thank you for your post, it's always nice to know you're not the only one!
Cg, you might want to take some extra magnesium. sometimes light headedness is a symptom of that.....
welcome to the not so wonderful world of thyroid, and to the wonderful world of MH thyroid forum...
Thanks for the advice! i'm definitely going to try that.
