nerve damage possible after total thyroid removal?

had total removal in October 2011, in March 2012 experiencing neck pain back pain sciatica nerve pain, to the point I couldnt walk or stand up straight for 3 months finally got a CT Scan showed pinched nerve at best in cervical area, bulging discs on 5 different levels in thoracic area and sciatica nerve damage possible.  Never had one day of neck or back pain my whole life and I am 44 years old.  Just wondering if thyroid surgery can cause these major symptoms.  Have to turn my head completely to one side to get the numbness  and pain to ease up even to swallow food.  miserable here, any advice?

my neck hurts too like this, and it started after the TT.  feel like my neck could be 'cracked" to make me feel better.  A couple of my friends have this too and i attribute it to being low thyroid as Mr. Moose is suggesting to above.

Bulging disc dont just happen from thyroid removal. Unless you had some bad fall or accident since Oct 2011, they were most likely that way before and you didnt notice the pain.

Why you now notice the pain is the question.

Now your thyroid is gone and you notice more body pain. It is common for hypothyroid (which you are now) people to feel more body pain from past existing injuries when their thyroid hormone levels T4 and especially T3 are lower that what their body needs. Your muscles can go into spasm creating new pain from nerve pinching if your hypo too. You can be in range but at the lower end and still feel hypo symptoms.

Do you have a FreeT3 and FreeT4 test result that you can post here? Some here can offer experienced opinions on this.
