thyroid

Just a quick question I have been suffering for the past month or so with this mental confusion or brain fog. It is really getting debilitating and it is very hard to concentrate. I was wondering if my achy body and always tired and brain fog could be caused by a problem with my thyroid. my doctor thinks it is all anexity and gave me anexity pills. When I take the pills I dont feel any better so Please help I am 19 and this is very hard. Thanks tom

I agree with all the others, I have had so many docs tell me my symptoms were stress etc. over the past year until my blood tests finally showed I had a thyroid problem. And brain fog is a massive part of it as I've learnt here. I posted a question about it a couple of weeks ago coz it was terrifying me, the thought that I couldn't think straight, which in itself makes you feel anxious. And everyone here gave fantastic replies, telling me not to be scared and how they all get brain fog too. So good luck with your blood results!

Yeah I agree I really dont think it is a tumor or anything of that issue I went back to the docs on wed. for a thyroid test so hopefully that comes back with something. I know it is genetic in my family my parents and grandparents all have something with their thyroid so I will keep everyone posted that you for all your help

What's the lesser of two evils?  I'd have your unbudgeable doc do a simple thryoid blood panel and make him prove you wrong.  I'd much rather do that then take anexity pills I don't need and won't help me anyways.  I saw that you'd been posting on the brain tumor site.  I hope it's thyroid for your sake.

My doctor put me Prozac and world of other anit-anxiety drugs last year until they finally did a thyroid test, and I found out i was hypothyroid. And yes your symptoms mach that.Might be a thyroid issue might not be. Could be other things as well. Lots of variables. But id insist a test to rule that out.
