Your doctor didn't check what level since July? Please explain what isn't a true test, with result of 6.1.
What was the reference range for the FT4?
A positive ANA can be present with Hashimoto's.
Normally, if you have pituitary issue, TSH will be lower, because the pituitary won't recognize the need for more thyroid hormones.
From what I'm seeing you have Hashimoto's and should probably be on thyroid replacement hormones to alleviate your symptoms.
hi, my doctor did not check my level since july as he said it wasn't a true test at that time it was 6.1, and my TSH back then was 3.2.
I had 2 tests one for
THYROGLOBIN AB: 34(range was 0-40)
THYROGLOBIN MICROSOMAL AB: 136 (range was 0-35) this went up 10 from last time.
i wondered about lupus because of the speckled ana result. in also had all 4 globins checked back in july they were high normal.
my other concern was i read that a tsh could be high if you may have a pituitary problem, my fsh and lh hormones are very low.i just cant get a doctor to put everything together for me.
Your TSH is too high, even though the lab report might show it as normal. Many/most labs are using outdated reference ranges for TSH.
What's the reference range for the Free T4? Ranges vary lab to lab and have to come from your own report.
Which thyroid antibody test did you have? There are 2 of them that are markers for Hashimoto's. They are Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (TPOab) and Thyroglobulin Antibodies (TGab). You need to have them both.
At any rate, everything we're seeing here, including symptoms indicate Hashimoto's. Your thyroid could shut down because of lupus; but it would, most likely, shut down because of Hashimoto's, which is an autoimmune disease in which the body sees the thyroid as foreign so produces specific antibodies (those mentioned above) to destroy it.
Have you been diagnosed with lupus? Lupus is also an autoimmune disease, which attacks the entire body. The connection between Hashimoto's and Lupus is that they are both autoimmune and once a person has one autoimmune, the chances of getting another are much greater.
