will hyperthyroid removal cure a fib

HAVE A FIB AFTER GOING IN FOR EMERGENCY APPENDIX REMOVAL,DR, THINKS CAUSED BY THYROID. HAD CARDIO CHECK UP,VERY GOOD AND TOLD SAME TO GO TO THYROID CHECKUP. FOUND HYPER THYROID,SCANS SHOWED 5 LARGE NODULES,3 SIZE OF TENNIS BALL.HAD UP LOAD AND BIOSPYS AND WERE BENIGN. WAITING FOR SURGERY,WILL THIS BE CURE FOR MY A FIB? RC

I can't tell you if this will cure your A-fib, but I can tell you that heart arrhythmias can be caused by hyperthyroidism.  

Are the nodules the cause of your hyper or a symptom of it?

Do you have a diagnosis of the cause of your hyper?  Do you have an autoimmune thyroid disease, either Graves' or Hashimoto's thyroiditis?  Are the nodules "toxic nodules", also called "toxic adenomas"?
