Follow up from Facial Pain Appt.

Hi All,

I just wanted to fill you all in on my follow up appt. with neuro on facial pain. I had posted a question regarding this a few days ago. Thanks for all your responses.

After an MRI -showing periventricular and subcortical lesions and a negative lyme's...My doc said today there was no new pathology on MRI from Dec. 09 to be concerned about. and Lyme's was neg.

He said although there are many meds to help with facial pain he is uping my Topomax to 50mg a day and see if that helps. Follow up in a month and if it does not help he will try something else. Otherwise no dx. of any particular cause or certainty.

Thanks. I will see what happens

interesting, I just read this after I posted about Topomax on your other post! Good luck with that, I hope it works. It's been working wonders for me most days for the deep achey part of it. Keep me posted!

Thanks for your reply.

Have they dx. you at all? or do you have other neurological sx.?Are you being followed by a neuro? My doc mentioned Lyrica or Cymbalta. I am going to callhim as it has been a month and nothing has changed. I appreciate your input. It can be so frustraating.

Hello,

Well,

It's me and still no relief from facial pain....My last appt. on March 7th he upped my Topomax to 100 mg  a day to see if it would help with facial pain and it has been almost a month and no releif...He discussed Cymbalta or Lyrica if this did not work...not naming it TN or anything neuropathic pain is the label for me...

Any input on either of those meds???
