Hi,

It is uncommon to experience pain in the upper left abdomen. When you do, it may suggest a stomach, colon, spleen or pancreas problem.

Pain in the lower left abdomen often suggests a problem in the lower colon, where food waste is expelled. Possible causes include inflammatory bowel disease or an infection in the colon known as diverticulitis.
