Hello all, this post is in regards to my son, not me. He is 19 and has down syndrome. 12 days ago, he was doing some sprint events, got dizzy and vomited. He gets regular exercise with soccer and basketball so we didn't think much beyond it. We thought he may just be sick but since then, he's had a headache, dizziness, and fatigue for 12 days. A visit to his GP 5 days ago indicated he may have a slight ear infection so he was prescribed a z-pack, but his symptoms have gotten worse. Last night we went to the ER and a head and neck CT scan found nothing, but he was kept overnight for observation, then discharged him with no real conclusion. His blood pressure and white blood count were normal. His verbal skills aren't good enough to articulate his symptoms and it's heartbreaking to seem him struggle. I'm thinking along the lines of 1) a potential concussion we're not aware of, 2) migraines(he's never had them before), 3) some type of cardiovascular injury. I'm not even sure if my thoughts are plausible. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
