Abdominal bloating

I have constantly had abdominal bloating and distension as long as I can remember. I keep myself in good shape and eat right and have regular bowel habits. This is my only symptom. I have had a GYN workup and everything was fine there. I have to have up to 3 different sizes of pants to accomodate my stomach bloating and it has become unbearable.  Can anyone give me any information on what this could be? Thanks

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
You could be suffering from an inflammatory bowel condition such as Celiac Disease/Ulcerative Colitis/Irritable Bowel Syndrome/ Crohn’s disease. Other than that it could be due to H pylori infection. It can also be food intolerance. Diabetes can cause slowing of gut and can cause bloating and hence get your blood sugar tested. It can also be due to excess consumption of food rich in sulfites like juices, molasses, yellow dye in ready made food stuffs, and red wine. Sulfites are present in lesser amounts in mashed potatoes made from dry powder, pickles, tinned shrimp, cookies, crackers, and readymade pie dough. Constipation can also cause bloating. Very sedentary lifestyle is another cause.
Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Take care!

Many alt med experts feels most of us are deficient in digestive enzymes(so food sits are too long producing toxins/gas, etc) so you could be acid deficient. i think they use papaya extract etc, but look it up. if tyou see annother dic it might be GI since Gyn was a good first choice and if pelvic sono wasd clear...
