Abdominal pain... not going away!! Pleas help!!

I've had abdominal pain for the last week. Some days it calms itself and isn't so bad, other days, it's constant. It's an ache that surroungs my belly button and my whole right side, upper and lower. I feel a tingling sensation as well. I have noticed a dull ache under my upper ribs, on both sides. Like a sore ache, but that usually lasts only a few minutes. I've been to the doctor and w/out tests, he says it's gastrisis. I really don't think it is viral, because that should have gotten better by now or feel less, but it's not the case. Anyone have any ideas or help? Thanks!

Thank you for your reply.
I just read up on these, and it's really hard to figure out what it might be. I have some symptoms of most of them, but not all. Do you know what the tingling is?
There is no sensitivity while pressing the abdomin, but I do get a little nauseaus (sp?) pressing it. Sitting irritates it, while standing/walking seems ok.
Thanks!

Hi

Pain around umbilical area is due to several reasons like appendicitis, chronic appendicitis, colitis, gastritis, a fistula or diverticulum at the umbilicus etc. There are chances that there was a muscle pull. Alternatively there could be infection in abdomen causing peritonitis.
I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining and tests to confirm it. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted.
