Bleeding from ear after plane trip

I have been having unusual symptoms with my ears, head and eyes for about a year and none of my doctors had any idea what was wrong.  It started with ear pain (both) and a feeling of fullness and muffled hearing along with bad headaches.  They checked for infection and there was none, also a hearing test was normal.  The odd thing is that if I heard a loud noise or when I would laugh loudly my head would hurt badly and it felt like someone was shaking my head so that my eyes physically go up and down. Quite disturbing, especially when driving.  In December I flew from Los Angeles to Minneapolis to North Carolina and when I got to my hotel room I had blood coming out of my right ear.  I cleaned it but in the morning there was blood on my pillow and it bled for about 2-3 dys after.  I assumed my eardrum ruptured.  After returning home I still had the same pain along with the other same symptoms and I've heard that the ear pain should subside once the eardrum ruptured.  So I went to the doctor about three weeks later and he looked at my ear and saw nothing that would suggest that my eardrum had indeed ruptured.  I wondered if anyone would have an idea what happened to make my ear bleed?
Thanks, and sorry so long.

Thank you for your help and response.
I researched my symptoms on the internet and found a possible cause--superior semicircular canal dehiscence syndrome.  I had an appt. with the head and neck surgery MD and showed him the info that I got regarding the subject and he ordered a ct scan which I will have done this monday.  It may not be the above but whatever it is, I hope it is figured out soon.
Thank you again for your time.

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!

Your problem could be eustachean tube dysfunction. Please read this link for more information: http://www.patient.co.uk/showdoc/27001164/

Bleeding can occur due to capillary rupture in the ear, severe pressure changes or fluid in the ear after air travel.

Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please consult an ENT specialist for this. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
