Can a crooked xiphoid process interfere with the esophagus?

2xS
For as long as I can remember my xiphoid process has been crooked. It bends sharply to the right. I don't know how it got this way. I don't recall ever having injured it. I think I was born with a crooked xiphoid process. I now suspect it is the cause of the esophagus pain I have been experiencing since the end of November 2015. I am now investigating this, which is why I'm asking here if a crooked xiphoid process can interfere with the esophagus? Everything I have tried to "heal" my esophagus has not worked, but as of September 02, I discovered that pushing my my xiphoid process down and to the left - back towards center, away from my esophagus - has instantly stopped the discomfort in my esophagus. Now, because of this, my esophagus seems to be completely normal. But after a short while, the pain comes back. I then push my xiphoid process down and to the left again, which returns my esophagus to normal. I have to do this repeatedly all day and all night, except for when I sleep, so that my esophagus feels normal. When I push my xiphoid process down and to the left, it pops and cracks to varying degrees, but does not cause me any pain. The problem is, it slowly returns to its previous position, which seems to be effecting my esophagus a lot. I have not seen a doctor about any of this yet.
