Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
You probably have beingn intracranial hypertension’(BIH). This happens due to impaired CSF absorption. A generalized throbbing headache worst felt in the morning and last thing at night. This headache is generally relieved on standing (consistent with raised intracranial pressure). It is aggravated by straining, coughing or a change in position. This headache is accompanied by various neurological symptoms such as dizziness, numbness, loss of vision, loss of hearing etc, all of which are temporary.
You need a prompt evaluation by a neurologist. Hypothyroidism, hypoparathyroidism, adrenal insufficiency are a few things I would recommend you get investigated for. These can precipitate BIH. A spinal tap is a must both to diagnose the condition and to treat it. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Hope this helps. Take care!
You have no idea how much I hate putting this out there because I think it's a really blow off answer in most cases. Is it possible the migraines really scare you and then you start thinking about how much this is interupting your life and then the anxiety gets so bad you have an anxiety attack along with all the other stuff going on? Try and tell yourself this next time it happens that everything is okay and this little episode is going to go away in a little bit so you can get on with your day. Migraines/anxiety can do some really wierd things to people. I feel for you! If this doesn't work go back to your dr. and see what else this could be. Goodluck!
Sounds like a migraine or a TIA.
A migraine may be controllable through medication and/or diet changes. A TIA is like a ministroke - anytime your brain is deprived of oxygen you can have similar symptoms. Your MRI was clear though - did they get the brainstem in that?
Being tired all the time is also a symptom of hypoxia (reduced oxygenation of the blood). There are a few causes for it, the most common being anemia. Has the doctor done bloodwork? It would stand to reason he or she would check your RBC count, Hematocrit and Hemoglobin. There are types of anemias that are also unrelated to the amount of iron you are getting, so please make sure the docotor follows up!
Out of curiosity, is this more likely to occur directly after exercising? Try to identify what you were doing directly before having an attack. It may be helpful to identify a cause or at least a common factor.
Good luck and keep us posted!
they certainly do sound like migrain attacks which can cause all the symptoms that you have mentioned, you could also be lacking a bit of iron which could be the reason you are tired all the time, but i think it is just the worry about all these headaches you are getting i would suggest giong back to your doctor so he can prescribe you a tablet that can help you when you are having these attacks
Well, i don't get migraines often but when i do they sound a lot like that. i don't know why your tired all the time, maybe you can get some follow up tests and advice on how you can change your lifestyle to make you feel better. x
