Pregnancy symptoms but not preg??

For the past 3 weeks I've been having annoying symptoms that were very similar to the "morning sickness" I had during my first pregnancy- all day nausea, dizziness, forgetfulness, moodiness, taste changes (stop liking meat, start craving tomato sauce), breast tenderness, fatigue, maybe more, I forget. Also I've been short of breath a lot and having a LOT of hot flashes- and I don't remember them being this severe the first time around.
However, I don't believe I'm pregnant because my period came (albeit a week late), and I don't get light periods. Yesterday when it started I had some of the worst cramps I ever had, but all the "pregnancy" symptoms went away. But today the period is still here, and the nausea and hot flashes especially have returned in full force!! What is wrong with me?? When I think "hot flashes" I think "menopause", but I'm 23, so that's pretty unlikely!

Hi it could be a pregnancy and the bleeding being an implantation bleed, where the sperm implants and this usually happens around the time your period is due...best to see your doc

take care

Females have varied symptoms before and during their periods.  The symptoms you have described are typically related with periods.  However, some of them are also common with pregnancy. As you are already into your periods, the chances of you to be pregnant is unlikely but you can still get a pregnancy test kit to confirm whether you are pregnant or not.  Conclusively, there is nothing to be worried about but you must discuss these issues with your Gynaecologist.
