Is there someone here who has either fibromyalgia or myofascial pain? I'd like to ask some questions.
Thanks for both of your help. As for your questions anastasia2010 these symptoms started years ago when I was around 16. Usually the pain is the worst after physical activities. Also I find that when I try to get up from the toilet my back is pretty locked up and it takes a few seconds for it to loosen up so I can stand straight up. My appetite has always been the same and my skin is okay. My stool is more complicated to explain because I also have ulcerative colitis disease. Also no one in my family has anything like this. I also have seen a rheumatologist with him seeming very unconcerned.
Hi! When did you first start to notice those symptoms? What are you doing when you are in your worst kind of pain (I mean are you doing something physical, or it starts when you wake up without doing anything)? Have you noticed any changes in your skin (such as scaly skin or...) except those bumps? How is your appetite, do you eat as you did before? How is your stool? How would you describe the pain? Has anyone in your family had similar problems and when?
I´m asking these questions because when I was reading your notes the symptoms reminded me on Ankylosing spondylitis. The best thing would be to go to rheumatologist.
I am really sorry, I am not too sure what this could be. I was going to say consult your doctor but it seems that you have already been doing so. I would keep pestering them if I were you until you get some kind of answer or at least some tests done. General pain, from my knowledge, could be down to a number of things. It could be Arthritis, it could be something like Glandular Fever(although I think where your pain is located this is unlikely) or it could be another condition that I don't know anything about! Also, have you ever felt depressed or been diagnosed with depression or anything similar? Sometimes emotional illness can cause physical symptoms such as digestive problems, low immunity and general aches and pains. Sorry if I am not very helpful! I hope you get answers soon and get well x
Also I have the knots in my shoulder blades and pain in them. I know this is common with fibromyalgia also.
