Unexplainable symptoms

I have been in and out of the hospital and I am 23 years old. My right arm was numb for about 3 weeks and then my right leg went numb as well. My leg felt  better after a couple of days and my right arm has very bring blue veins and before I was never even able to see my veins! I am very worried and two neurologists later, they still can't tell me whats wrong with me. Anyone have any ideas and can you please share them? thanks.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If you are very fair skinned and the skin is thin with less of underlying fat, then veins can be visible and look prominent whenever they are engorged with deoxygenated blood (has a bluish tinge). This is a normal finding and nothing to be perturbed about. It may look unsightly and cause stress therefore.
Other causes that can cause veins to bulge are peripheral vascular disease, faulty deep veins’ valves and high blood pressure. Kidney function tests should also be done. A duplex ultrasound of the vein will need to be carried out. You can gently massage the vein in upward direction, towards your shoulder, 2-3 times a day and see if it helps. Flexing your fingers and relaxing them a few times will also help. If the bulging vein does not disappear in a day or two, then consult a doctor.
Numbness could be due to poor blood supply or due to pinched nerve. But I guess, the neurologist would have ruled that out. Hence you must consult a vascular specialist.
However on net and without examining it is difficult to give a confirmed opinion. Please consult your doctor about these possibilities. Take care!

Hi! im angie i suggest that you dont stop be persistant and make them find out what is wrong with you. Next time you go in you say i am not leaving till you figure out whats wrong with me becuase i am too young and this is not normal. Becuase the vains are showing that your having a disfunction in your circulation and is not good for your heart. Also the loss of sensation to your leg and arm are symptoms of a stoke and you are way to young for that also means that something is wrong with the left side of your brain. So be strong dont let them brush you off becuase it could mean your life.
