I am sorry to hear about the response that you have had from your doctor.

If you are unhappy and are not getting any better, or should the symptoms worsen, do not hesitate to get back to the doctor sooner than a week.  Make an appointment with a different doctor at the practice.

Blood shot eyes can be from conjunctivitis, so I am surprised that you do not say that the doctor examined your eyes nor give you advice or medication for that, or consider that it may be connected with your head problem.

If you wear contacts, then stop wearing them whilst you have your eye problem and wear normal glasses.  Blood shot eyes

If you are looking at a computer screen or any other type of screen, then it would be wise not to use a computer whilst you have your headache.  It could be a migrainal type of headache and starring and glaring at screens, going late to bed can cause vision and head problems.

Make sure that you drink plenty of water no more than 2 litres a day, as dehydration can also cause headache problems.

I do hope that things settle down for you soon, but do go back sooner for a second opinion if you are concerned and worried.

Best wishes.

Before you go to the ER (of a GOOD LARGE hospital and not just the closest facility to you) make a list of any medication you are on; how long you've been on it and the dosage.

ASLO list not only your symptoms but also when you have those symptoms: day or night? for a few minutes or several hours etc.

Make an appointment to see your doctor urgently or go and seek advice in ER.
