Swollen gland on panty line

About a month after I got pregnant, I noticed a swollen gland on my panty line. It stayed there my whole entire pregnancy. After my pregnancy it would swell for a week and almost disappear another week. Now 13 months after I gave birth to my child, the gland ruptured. It had some oozing but mostly a clear liquid and blood. Ever since it ruptured (a week and a half ago), I have had a slight fever that comes and goes and I have not had a normal appetite and I feel nauseous on and off throughout the day. I'm not sure if the two are related. The glad seems significantly smaller but now there is still a little lump, slightly smaller than a pea. I started taking a antibiotic today. Should I be worried or just let my body and antibiotic take care of things?

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Since the lump burst and oozed out something, it was either a cyst or an abscess. It is best to consult a doctor and if there is a mouth still there maybe scrapings should be sent for culture. Such long standing abscesses can also be tubercular. Take care!

I agree with both of the above posters - the antibiotic you are on MAY help, but there may be better antibiotics for you to take.   Please have your doctor look at it - he or she may opt to do some bloodwork to identify the type of bug causing your swollen gland!

Good luck and keep us posted!

You should get it checked and take antibiotics so it won't get infected

I would think the antibotics will take care of the problem but if it doesn;t or the fever persists , then I think you should call your doctor.. Better safe than sorry.. Hope you feel better Nickole... Andrea
