White coating on tongue.

I've been having white coating on my tongue. It's not in patches, but coats almost all my tongue except for the tip. It seems to be thicker in the back of the tongue. It comes off easily when scraped with a toothbrush and it doesn't hurt. What could be causing this? I should mention that I have acid reflux, could that cause the coating?
