You can have a viral infection anywhere, incl. one hand.  Has a doctor diagnosed it as such?

Yes, and there are other possible viral infections.

Some common warts, only on one hand, for example, are the result of a virus infection.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Yes, it is possible to have a direct viral dermatitis or a viral infection of atopic dermatitis and this can affect localized areas too like one hand. Usually the causative virus is herpes simplex. Do discuss this with your doctor (skin specialist) and get yourself examined.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
