My problems started almost 3 years ago with a few bouts of vertigo. Now it has manifested itself info jerking of my right shoulder or unilateral body shaking on my right side when all of my weight is on my right leg. This happens when I am on something unbalanced, if I hear loud noises or certain frequencies, & I get the arm jerking when I see flashing lights. I just finished physical therapy & he found that lifting up on my head stops the shaking. If I tilt my head toward my right shoulder, I can prevent the shaking before it begins, but it doesn't work if I'm already shaking. MRI's of my brain & cervical spine do not show anything that would cause this. I even fall down if the noise is loud enough. All the doctors are stumped. I've had nerve studies that don't show anything. I do have nystagmus, guttate psoriasis, headaches about once a week, my ANA is >1:640, tear duct plugs due to dry eyes, dry nasal passages, & muscular aches on either side of my spine & shoulders. I am negative for Lyme disease, Sjogren's, & Lupus so far. I have an abnormal VEMP test, but that is it. I see a new rheumatologist next month. If he can't help me, I'm going to have to go to Cleveland Clinic because this is really causing issues in my life. Anyone out there have similar issues? I'm on two seizure medications.
