I concur with jemma116. At this point it would be a very good idea to have medical documentation from your physician just in case the day you wake up for the exam, you're in so much pain you can't write. Give it to them before hand, just let them know you are experiencing a problem. Do it now because it is suspicious to pull it out in the day of the exam. Hold in there girl. Get a wrap from the pharmacy to limit movement Nd yea maybe an anti-inflammatory med suggested by a pharmacist. Diet is very important. Dairy= calcium. Very important. Please keep us posted.
I would advise that you see your doctor for a referral to physiotherapy with regard to any trapped nerves in the upper spine. And also to do nerve conduction tests on the carpal tunnel to make sure there is no compression there.
I should imagine that you have been using the computer and other DS games that have put a strain on the tendons and ligaments and this could be the problem (called Tenosynovitis is inflammation of the lining of the sheath that surrounds a tendon that is the cord that joins muscle to bone).
With you not being able to put pressure on the hand at all, seems that it is inflamed. What I also suggest you do is use the hand as little as possible and get a wrist splint from the pharmacist. This will help to support the wrist and allow it to heal.
If you keep using that hand, and tapping on the keyboard and your cell phone, it will get much worse. Avoid using it as much as possible until it gets better. You can also take pain relief like paracetamol in the recommended doses.
I have heard that drinking a tablespoonful of cider vinegar helps, but it is a question of trial and error. You can also apply lots of live yogurt on to the painful area on your arm and hand gently wrap it before going to bed. The yogurt acts like a cold compress and also draws out inflammation.
It was brilliant on my leg when I damaged it and good for sunburn.
Make sure you are eating a healthy diet to maintain good health and drinking plenty of water.
When you see your doctor, see if get him to give a note with regard to your bad hand so that you can produce it as evidence to the examining board. They may be able to allow your more time to complete your exam or allow to you sit the exam at a later date.
Best wishes
So if you were to try and localize the pain, could you be very specific to the area of your right arm it affects? What is the sensation? Does it change? Is it worse at certain parts if the day, ie night? Are all your fingers affected, if any? It really ***** girl, but I can almost guarantee you aren't going to get this figured out before your exam. You should have addressed this at the very beginning as opposed to waiting 4 years until it got so bad and put you in this position. I am NOT trying to preach, I just wish you had more time to investigate. Depending in location, sensation, and areas involved....it might be a herniated disk in your spine pressing in a nerve supplying your right arm with sensation. It could be a pinched nerve between your shoulder blades. It could be a group if muscles. Does the pain feel closer to the outside if your skin or inside, ie muscle vs bone? Or is it a warm, prickly sensation like a waking muscle that may seem affected by circulation and recent arm placement , ie behind your pillow when you sleep. Try to answer those questions and maybe it can help myself or another person help with a suggestion. Thanks sweetie!! Keep strong!!
