headache mystery

I was at my son's football game yesterday and I stood up to cheer when they scored. I felt a rush to my head and a sudden stabbing pain in my head followed by slowing of perception and then I blacked out. It was only for a second and I was able to sit again without falling. I had a headache for about 15 minutes, but no other symptoms. I did notice some dizziness in the afternoon when I would stand suddently or change position. I checked my blood pressure at the local pharmacy and it was in the normal range. Today I ran in a half marathon and I took extra precautions to stay hydrated. despite my efforts I got another headache, but this one was persistent and is still with me hours later. I have rested, drank lots of water, ate, and I took 2 aleve then 4 hours later I tok 2 ibu9200 mg)  but the headache lingers. It is difficult to judge whether i need to seek medical attention because of the precipitating events...the football game and the run. Any advice?

Thank you. I am getting medical attention today. I was getting mixed advice locally and it was confusing. Better to be safe, so i'm headed to the doc.

One thing I noticed you did not discuss was what your diet consisted of? Just curious. I have migraines and when it is just a migraine I get an aura approximately ten to fifteen minutes before it starts. If I do not take my prescription medication the room will start to feel unreal and I feel slightly intoxicated. This is followed by pain starting really dull at first. Then Tunnel vision until all I can see is black. Excruciating pain until the point of vomiting continuing pain and vomiting until I fall asleep. This has lasted at some times up to three days. I have noticed that my migraines are different than my mothers, that are different than my x boyfriends, that are different from the next person, etc. etc. I personally hate taking any kind of pain killer with my migraines because they always seem to intensify the pain. Even if it's a very small pain any kind of pain medication will always seem to make it worse. Plus, how much water did you have when you say lots? Did you drink lots through out the day or a lot at once. I definitely would keep up with the fluids slow and steady. One of the first signs of dehydration is headache.

You need to seek medical attention. If it were me, I would go to the ER. God speed.
