Any ideas?

In mid November last year I started getting this weird spasm like feeling deep within me, initially this was just in my heart area but has now spread out to seemingly random locations around my body.  Every few minutes I will get one of these, most of the time nothing is visible although if I put my hand over the location I can feel it.  I've had an ECG and echocardiogram done and the cardiologist wasn't concerned.

However since then various other symptoms have appeared, I have almost no energy to do things, since January I've been suffering from moderate to severe belching for no reason.  I find myself not able to concentrate on anything for long periods due to what seems to be a brain fog.  I have a pain in my back just below my left shoulder that just won't go away.  Various other areas also seem to ache at times for no reason.  My eyes have also been bloodshot for some time with a feeling of pressure in the area of my head above one of them.  I'm also getting pains from time to time in abdomen area although these are not very intense and from time to time I'm also having loose stalls.

The random spasm feeling I mentioned earlier seems to be getting worse and is concerning when it happens in the heart or abdomen area but as I said I'm getting this feeling in just about every part of my body including the area above my eye at times.  The other notable symptom is that I can feel cold at times for no reason.

I've had many blood tests done (anemia, B12, thyroid, calcium etc) and there are all normal with the exception of a low lymphocyte count.

Due to this I have repeatedly been told by doctors that it's basically all in my head and that there is nothing causing it.  I'm sick of this but as I'm in the UK on the NHS there really seems nothing I can do.  This week things have been quite bad with the bloodshot eyes and pain below shoulder getting worse.  I'm not able to do any work and haven't been able to at least since Christmas and as times goes on my symptoms are only getting worse.

Sorry for the spelling error in the above post, my GP put me on Risperdal, as she thinks it's all in my head.

OK, things have deteriorited quite a bit in the last 2 weeks.  These random twiches that can be just about anywhere have been getting worse.  I've also been getting this weird tingling feeling in my legs and indeed I've lost quite a bit of leg strength in the last 2 weeks.  My GP again said that it's all psychosymatic and put me on Risperdone.  I am also unable to concentrate on easy tasks like playing a computer game for example my brain is just too clouded.  Bowel symptoms also seem to have got worse with belching almost all the time and large stools.

I have done a bit of research online but nothing seems to match my symptoms.  I have been tested negative for celiac.

The effects of this undiagnosed illness seem very systemic, thinking back as well as I can remember the first symptom was actually mid October feeling light headed for no reason for a few days, then felt normal for a bit then light headed again then normal then the twitches started mid November, brain fog mid December, digestive symptoms in January and leg tingling this month.

About a month before all this started I did go for a walk through open countryside and at one stage I did also have a lot of flies in the house but my Doctor says there's no chance I would have picked up anything from either of them.

I'll bet it's your thyroid - start researching that and don't believe them when the doctors say your blood tests are 'normal'.

Good luck

P.S. And guess who diagnosed my "all-in-the-head" condition so I could finally get the correct treatment? Me! And that made me really mad!

I had a problem for 30 years that was "all in my head," until it was properly diagnosed, that is. Hie yourself to Harley Street. It will cost you, but cash on the barrel head usually produces better results. Unfortunately the NHS, or the the HMO's we have here in the States, tend to treat us like charity patients, even though we pay through the nose for our inadequate care.
