my life is being ruined by this..help

A few questions. Long story short Ive had issues with my head huge pains that go to the top of my head and other symptoms..have seen about 4 nuerologist and have had many MRIS and CTS the most recent was just in july. Nothing came back abnormal though. My symptoms are facial pains, tingling in my face and extremities, my face hurts sometimes to make certain facial expressions...hurts to strain using the restroom. I have not seen a chiari malformation specialist but I am beginning to think that it is something different. This is going on 2 years as the symptoms started with my lips and cheeks tingling.

I have noticed a soft spot on the top of my head, and went to the neuro about it, he said that the Fontanelle closes up around 18 months and issues that are congenital would show as a young adult. I am now 21 years old. I also have pain on my forhead where my headline is my bones are soft to the touch ( not that I should even be pressing on them lol )....I have vitamin D and vitamin b12 deficiency.

My question is even if it is rare is there a disease or disorder that would cause the bones or skull to change or sounds ridiculous but divide without injury? I have no clue why I am in so much pain. I have seen a rhuemetologist which did not find anything either. Wouldnt MRIS show these types of things...My Neuro said a bone scan is not necessary :( and that Its nothing.

Hi

I'm not a doctor but was thinking if you are deficient in vitamin D you would not be able to regulate the calcium levels in your bones correctly. This means you could have leaching occuring. This would cause the softening of the bones. If there is a history of rickets or osteoporosis in your family you'd want to keep that in mind and get a bone density test. The facial tingling may be due to the leached calcium overstimulating your neurones but this is just a theory. You could have something completely unrelated to the bone problem.

In order to improve the strength of your bones you not only need to take vitamin D you must take Calcium. It is better to get these from a food source not from tablets. Exercise!!! Even if it kills you, a short walk to the store. A cycle to work etc. it'll all help. Certain food causes calcium to be leached in food so you should try and avoid them.

If you have broken a lot of bones over the past few years it would highly suggest a bone disease but doctors don't like to perform bone density tests on people younger than 30yrs due to the high radiation levels. You should try and read up on rickets and other bone diseases to see if you tick any or all the symtoms and then speak to your doctor about it. If you feel strongly about anything don't take no for an answer. You know your body better than anyone else.

Hope I helped.
