pressure sensation

I have a feeling of pressure above my cheekbone between my temple and ear (roughly in the middle) what could it be? I'm taking nasonex (oral nose) and omeprazole (oral pill) i've had this feeling for 3 days now.

thanks for the reply doctornee, i had an appointment with a ent specialist for a different symptom but i was prescribed a nasal spray for nasal polyps (this sensation seems to have started with the medication) i'll try out that valsalva maneuver! thanks again take care

The pressure sensation could be due to sinusitis, nasal polyps, nasal congestion, internal ear problem or due to temporal arteritis. Take steam twice a day and see if the pressure is relieved. If it is then it could be due to sinusitis. Sometimes an Eustachian tube (tube connecting ear to throat) block can cause these pressure symptoms. Try valsalva maneuver (take a deep breath and blow while pinching your nostrils shut and closing your mouth).
