No one on this board has the shingles.  Katewalk on May 06, 2013 wrote that she contacted her nurse because she had red, itching and burning spots.  The nurse told Katewalk that she may have shingles.

gemalicious on May 02, 2013 posted her question with regard to spots under one armpit.

I, jemma116, have no problem at all.

Best wishes.

I did not suggest shingles.  I suggested that you had an allergy to something. eikafox is the one with the shingles.after someone else wrote. I thought if you were hurting maybe it could be.  but if you are not hurting.  it is probably something else.  go to your doctor.  he will know.  mandy876

You CAN NOT attempt any treatment until your physician approves it, you're PREGNANT! Do not attempt to self medicate. There is a medication pregnancy class system that will allow a doctor or pharmacist determine whether the drug is ok for you and your baby depending on many things, including term, ie first/second trimester. Weird hormonal things happen to prego ladies. Curly hair goes straight, some people get freckles, all of a sudden hate their favourite foods... It could be chocked up to that. Do NOT make any assumptions. See your doctor before you do or take ANYTHING please!!

Yes you can get shingles on your head and shingles is very painful because the virus attacks the nerves.  The pain can last for a long time with our without spots.

Is your question intended for someone else mandy876?, because I do not have shingles.

Once we have chicken pox which is caused by the  varicella zoster virus, the virus lies dormant in the bod's nerve tissues.

When the immune system is low the virus can be reactivated causing shingles (herpes zoster).  When someone gets shingles, because the virus attacks the nerve nucleus, the pain and rash run along the nerve and not in isolated spots.

I had red spots that developed over about 3 days on one side of my chest and hip. It was itchy and burning, & I rang a nurse. She said it may be Shingles and need to see a GP for an antiviral medication that works if started by 3 days. I was about I day late and have had 2 cases to date, most likely at times of stress when the immune system was low. Shingles is caused by the same virus that causes Chicken Pox, and some viral agents remain in the body for many years, then cause Shingles.

it sounds like a allergic reaction.  your deodorant or soap what do you wash your clothes in  and do you use a softener.  looks like both arms would be doing this.  I would suggest you go to your doctor.  it might get worse.  some times Benadryl will help with allergy.  I was itching my legs arms and every where.  I started taking benadryl  and it did help.  I called my docs nurse and she said keep with that and sent me out a prescription. good luck mandy876

You do not say if these spots itch, have heads on them, or whether they ooze and crust up again.

If these are just red spots with nothing else, it may be an allergy.  From your shaving your hair under your arm, or acne type spots.    An antiseptic cream should help with that.  Keep an eye on them so they do not turn to an abcess

If they ooze and crust over and feel sore, it is likely to be impetigo.  These are contagious, so don't share your towel.  See the doctor to prescribe you the correct ointment for these if you suspect that it could be impetigo.
