swollen tonsils with no throat pain

a couple of weeks ago I ended up getting a slight cold all the normal symptoms  (sore throat runny nose headache etc) and a few days went by and I felt better. The next week I ended up going out after work a couple times that week and drank heavily all week. Then I noticed the far back of my tongue (right side) would hurt really bad when I would move it then that pain would go away then it went to my left side then went away after a day or two. I have had a few beers and seems to make the pain come back but I've stopped having any beer. I haven't had that pain by my tonsils are still swollen my right one noticeably larger than the left one and my throat is still really red but there's no pain at all when I swallow. this has all happened over about a 3 week period I haven't had any drinks in 4 days  and the side of my tongue dosent hurt but there are bumps. should I wait another week to see if it gets any better or just go to my doctor
