weird feeling, dizzyness, brainfog

hi

for the past 10 months i have this constant light head, slightly dizzy weird feeling with brain fog.

it all happened in a day, i woke up feeling run down, weak and light headed, went to drs, they said its probably viral. anyways, i've been living with it ever since, i've got no other symptoms, im happy even while im like this and i dont think its anxiety or depression could it be anxiety? im not paniking, or feeling any kind of fear.

the only thing i have noticed is when i tilt my head side ways slightly i feel slightly better, but when im straight it just feels light headed, like im walking on clouds sometimes.

i do suffer from fatty liver, which i believe is on the way to recovery from my last check,  i have back problems due to a whiplash injury that i had, just get back pains at times.

anyone have any ideas what it could be? is it possible an ear problem even?

I think for the feeling run down and weak, it wouldn't hurt to do some blood testing (whatever your doctor thinks appropriate).

Did they do both an iron panel and a CBC?  Did they check your B 12 level?

Since they thought it was probably viral, did a WBC with differential show up anything outside normal range?

Are you being monitored for your liver?

Was your lower back CT scanned or was an MRI done, since you have pain there?

Hopefully, you can have the ear, nose and throat doctor check your vestibular system and the neck MRI scheduled pretty close to each other- I'd recommend working towards getting both.

Maybe the whiplash to your neck was worse than the pain let on.  I know when I was in a car accident, my neck was really badly sprained and my upper and mid back hurt too.  The fact your neck positions affect you in different ways really makes it sound like diagnostic testing for your neck is worth pursuing.  At this point,  I think if there were a problem with any of your neck discs, it hopefully would show up on an MRI.  X-rays of the neck would show the bony structures and hopefully reveal if there are any abnormalities there.  I hope your spinal cord is not somehow being compressed by an injury to your neck or by some abnormality there.

As you have had whiplash, the sensations that you are experiencing are likely to be from that.

My daughter had a similar problem, but only when she looked up (she had whiplash).

I can't remember the exact name the consultant gave her for this, but it is to do with having sustained the whiplash.

I suggest you see your doctor and get him to check your ear as you seem concerned about this and tell him the sensations that you are experiencing, and that these are better when you tilt your neck.  This could be due to something being constricted in your neck as a consequence of the whiplash.

If you are likely to make an insurance claim for the whiplash, the ongoing problems need to be documented by your doctor.  You may need to be referred to a specialist.

Best wishes.

hi, thank you soo much for your reply and advice,  anemia, blood pressure , sugar levels have been checked before, they were fine, i do get lower back pains, but neck wasn't soo bad, but never looked into that, how would the neck injury effect this? i will be going back to drs soon, will try a full check, just pretty hard to know where to start, ut full blood tests would be a good start i believe then the ear and continue from there to the mri?

again many thanks

Do go to an ear, nose and throat specialist and get your vestibular system checked.

Also, since you had a whiplash injury, have you ever had an MRI done of your cervical spine (neck)?

Since you have had your symptoms, did they test you for anemia?  If so, what test(s) did they run to check for it?

What is your blood pressure like?
